Charanya and Aubrey are back to share some of their favorite tools and resources that helped them through their dissertation writing process. This session will focus on innovative strategies for organizing your literature review, featuring advanced tools like ryaan.ai and Elicit, which have proven to be game-changers in our academic journey. Additionally, Aubrey will review the complexities of data analysis, offering insights into the most effective tools and methodologies to streamline this phase.

Please join us for a 30 presentation on the Cover Letters for Manuscript Submission with Dr. Isaac Chun-Hai Fung. We will have a 50 minute writing session following our guest speaker.

Dr. Fung has 17 years of research experience in infectious disease epidemiology and transmission dynamics modeling (e.g., COVID-19, influenza, cholera, Ebola, and HIV), digital health communications, real-world evidence, health economics and outcome research. Head of digital health and infectious disease epidemiology lab at Georgia Southern University.Author of 100+ peer-reviewed manuscripts in prominent journals including Lancet, PNAS, Emerg Infect Dis, & Ann Epidemiol.

NADrPH Mentorship Program 2023 - 2024

We're so excited to launch the applications for our annual mentorship program - this program is for NADrPH members who are seeking support, advice or networking opportunities with other DrPHers.

INFORMATION:
1. Application closes November 8th, 2023
2. Matches will be announced in late November
3. Matches will not be based on geography and will likely be a virtual program
4. The program will run for 6 months (December 2023 - May 2024)
5. A kick-off call will be held in late November/early December to discuss expectations & allow matches to meet
6. Mentor/Mentees will try to meet 1x per month for the 6-month period Mentee

Eligibility:
✔ Must be a current DrPH student, candidate or graduate
✔ Must be a *paid* member of the NADrPH

Griffin Jones is the founder and principal of Collectively Determined LLC, a health justice practice that specializes in equity and advocacy with and for marginalized communities. Griffin also serves as a senior research associate at the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative where he oversees a portfolio of equity leadership research projects, and the health equity and medical legal partnerships senior research associate for the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School. He also serves as a Human Rights Commissioner for the Town of Arlington, MA.

This virtual writing group provides a supportive and accountable space for DrPH practitioners including prospective students, current students and alumni. We understand that translating thoughts and ideas to polished writing can be challenging, and our goal is to create an environment that fosters productivity, motivation, and collaboration. The WriteWell group will kick-off the week of August 14th 2023 and meet every other week for 75-90 minutes, accommodating different time zones and schedules. Every other session will have a subject matter expert guest speaker lead a writing workshop for the first 30-min segment of the sessions. Our structured agenda ensures a well-balanced session, allowing participants to set goals, engage in focused writing time, and reflect on their progress.

The WriteWell group will also have a resource center that serves as a centralized hub where participants can upload, share, and access a diverse range of materials that are pertinent to their writing journey. Join the WriteWell Group and embark on a journey towards reaching your writing goals with support, accountability, and a community of like-minded scholars. Together, we will navigate the challenges and celebrate the milestones along the way.
